The Government of the Commonwealth of Dominica has congratulated the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro for his party’s resounding victory in regional and municipal elections held on Sunday, November 21.

In a statement released on Tuesday, the Government of Dominica said it commends the ruling and opposition parties and the people of Venezuela for the peaceful conduct of the elections and adherence to democratic processes.

The Dominica Government said its hope that the Government and Opposition will suspend political ill-will and work together to address the economic, political and social issues currently facing the people of Venezuela.

The Skerrit-led administration also called for a resolution to political discontent and discord and encouraged the country’s leaders and institutions to prioritize the wellbeing of the Venezuelan people.
