This year, his Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won 303 out of 542 seats in the Lok Sabha or Lower House of Parliament, compared with 282 seats in 2014. The Congress, the main opposition party, was unable to enthuse voters, winning just 52 seats, from 44 in 2014
